Smith Family Funeral Home - Fallon Obituary

ANGIE MAGALLANEZ DUFF, age 67, passed away on May 13, 2013 at home in Fernley, NV.
Angie was born November 28, 1945 in Mexico to parents Francisco and Petra. She came to the United States when she was in elementary school and was raised by her brother Joe and sister Felima. She married her husband, Doug in the 60s and they were together until his death in 2008. Both Angie and Doug loved the quiet small town environment so they and their two sons moved from Southern California to Alturas, California. They also lived in Susanville, Elk Grove, Texas and finally Fernley. Angie did volunteer work for the Senior Center in Fernley as well as for the Vita Program which provides free services for low income families during the Tax Season. Angie was so conscientious; she did her volunteer work as if she was a paid employee. She was dedicated, never late to work and always helping someone.

Angie was truly loved by all that knew her. She often spoke fondly of her children, grandchildren, and friends never hesitating to tell them she loved them.

After retirement from telecommunications, she gardened with passion, became a master gardener, and spent time giving back.

She is survived by her sons Dean and Mark; daughter in-law Nickie; grandchildren Lucas and Sarah; brother Joe; sister Felima; and numerous nieces and nephews. Angie was also blessed with countless friends, from childhood through her retirement in Fernley.

In lieu of flowers, please support your local seniors and/or volunteer programs in your community. No services will be held; however, please view and sign Angie's Guest Book on the Smith Family Funeral Home Website: http://www.smithfamilyfuneralhomefallon.com.

We knew each other more than 50 years and I could tell you anything, and no matter what you never judged me. You were such a great friend. Angie I miss you so much. I will always Love you like a sister. Thanks for always being there for me. Some day I will see you again...Keep sending those pennies from Heaven that we find on our daily...

We will never forget Angie and think of her all the time.....not just on the anniversary of her death.
Her and Doug were special friends. No matter how long it had been since we had seen them it was like we had never been apart. Friends like that are hard to find. Rest In Peace!
