Anita Mantri
1986-2016
We are deeply saddened to announce the sudden passing of ANITA MANTRI on November 10, 2016.
She will be deeply missed by her parents Vishakh (Vish) and Shubha Mantri, her dear sister Trisha and her grandmother Kumud Vaidya. She was the granddaughter of Late Bhalachandra & Sunanda Mantri and Late Madhav Vaidya. Her loss will be felt by her loving uncles, aunts and cousins from the Mantri, Vaidya, Sahney, Kesarwani, and Korde families. Her sparkling and inspiring personality will be missed by her friends, professors, teachers, and mentors from Texas A&M, Methodist hospital, Rice University, Cinco Ranch H.S., and Chinmaya Mission, Houston.
Like the stars, she shined on stage through her singing and her love for performing arts. Brilliant like the sun, she was into Space Medicine. She was committed to being a physician to astronauts and the aerospace community. A great loss not just for the family, but for the world. Her passion for the Aerospace Medicine Student and Resident Organization (AMSRO), the Aerospace Medical Association (AsMA) Council, and the National Biomedical Research Institute (NSBRI) was constant.
Hindu services will be at Schmidt Funeral Home, Tuesday, November 15, 2016 9 am - 1 pm. In lieu of flowers, please contact [email protected] to donate to The Anita Mantri Memorial Scholarship Fund established by the Texas A&M Foundation to be awarded to MD/PhD students as a perpetual legacy of Anita.

Not sure what to say?

Dear Mr and Mrs Mantri, Trisha, and Anita's grandmother Kumud Vaidya: As we approach the one-year anniversary of the loss of your beautiful, amazing daughter to this world I want you to know that I think of her loss often. And, honor her memory and an enthusiastic junior dynamic colleague that I truly admired and enjoyed getting to know and help mentor. I remember how draining the MD/PhD pathway was myself, and how fatigued I was at times from work on the wards in the third year of medical...

I am deeply sorry for this terrible loss. My heartfelt condolences to Mantri family and her near and dear ones.

Anita became one of my really good friends while she was in North Carolina. I remember her as being the most down to earth person and we bonded over trivial things in life. I could count on her to give me the best advice and we were looking forward to seeing each other in the near future. I will miss you Anita.

I send my deepest condolences to the Mantri family and send prayers of healing. May God help you through this process and bring you peace.

I only met you a few times, but you sure made an impact in my life such a sweet person. My condolences to your family may they find peace in knowing you touched many people and will be missed dearly by everyone.

Mr. & Mrs. Mantri & Trisha - I am so saddened by the tragic loss of Anita. I work with Trisha, and never had the privilege of meeting Anita, but I know how close Trisha was with her, how much Trisha looked forward to her trips home to see her and how special your trip to India was last year. It seems that Anita was a beautiful and brilliant person and her loss is not just yours, but also to everyone who would have been better off from her intellect and important science and medical...

Very shocking news indeed. I have met het a couple o times during the Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations in the past. She was charming, friendly and endearing. I would like to convey our heart felt condolences to the mantra family. May her soul rest in peace.
