RUPERT - Anita Morfin, 79, of Rupert, passed away Sunday, February 26, 2023. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 18, 2023 at the Rupert United Methodist Church. Arrangements are under the direction of Joel Heward Hansen Mortuary.
Read MoreI grew up with her daughters. I also worked in the school district for a number of years where I would occasionally fill in for the head custodians. So I had a few opportunities to work at her school and talk with her. She was a lovely wonderful lady.

I was blessed to be in Anita´s first second grade class and often still think fondly of the lasting impact of my time in Mrs. Beebe´s class. I am still reciting poems and singing songs to my own children and students. I have been thinking a lot lately (and actually talking to my husband about) her reading books to us about Harriet Tubman and Susan B. Anthony and Martin Luther King. I was thinking just last week about going with her to see her vote. And one of my favorites -- earning money...
