Ann Harding Obituary

Ann Cayton Harding, 85, of Houston passed away peacefully and went home to her Lord on February 23, 2012. She was born on December 29, 1926 in Groesbeck, Texas to Betty and Bun Cayton. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 57 years, William B. Harding, her sister Martha Beth Rape and her brother Bun Cayton, Jr.
Ann was a loving wife, a nurturing mother and grandmother, a career HISD teacher, a great cook and she loved to entertain. She was a woman of grace, style and beauty that spread joy into the lives of her family and many friends. Her smile, positive attitude and strong faith touched many people. She will be truly missed. Ann attended The University of Texas at Austin and was member of Delta Delta Delta sorority. It was there that she met her future husband Bill and after graduation they married and moved to Houston to build a life and raise a family. For over 50 years, Ann and Bill were blessed with many close friends and family in the Houston area. With grace from God, they were members of several Houston area churches including Bethel Independent Presbyterian Church and Westminster Methodist Church. Ann Cayton Harding was a true Texas woman with classic style - going from a small town girl to a big city woman that made a positive difference.
Ann is survived by her sons: Burney and wife Stephanie Harding of Sugar Land, TX and Bryan and wife Gina Harding of Reston, VA and grandchildren Laura Harding, Jeff Harding, Brett Harding, Kimberley and husband Brock Cooper, Chase Harding and great-grandchildren Madison Grace, Micah and Madison Paige. "Nanu" will live forever in all of our hearts.
The family would like to give special thanks to Val Campbell, Mom's "earth angel", for many years of extraordinary care, faithfulness and love. Her dedication and commitment are greatly appreciated. The family would also like to thank Val's husband Andrew and her entire family for their kind help and support.
A memorial service will be held at 2:30 in the afternoon on Monday, February 27, 2012 in the Chapel of Angels at Forest Park Lawndale, 6900 Lawndale Street, Houston, TX. 77023. Condolences and words of tribute can be left for the family at www.forestparklawndaleFH.com
In lieu of customary remembrances, the family requests that contributions in Ann's name be directed to the Houston Hospice, 1905 Holcombe Blvd. Houston, TX. 77030-4123 or go to www.houstonhospice.org

May you be comforted with this very reassuring scripture in Luke 20:38 wherein we are reminded that our loving Creator "... is a God, not of the dead, but of the living, for they are all living to him.” My deep sympathy to Ms Harding's family during your grief.
