Ann Horne, 93, and her strong soprano voice went to join the heavenly choir of angels on January 8, 2021. Of course, the family consensus is that soon after arriving, she would have taken over as Head Choral Director, since whoever was in charge up there would not have been running things in...

Not sure what to say?

Ann and I shared an interest in genealogy and we exchanged volumes of information years ago. We even traveled from Brooklyn, NY and stayed with her in El Centro around 2002. I recently found some information that I wanted to share with her, and then I discovered that she had passed. She was a wonderful person and a talented genealogical researcher. I'm saddened to learn of her passing and send my sincere condolences to her survivors. RIP Ann Horne. You were a wonderful acquaintance.

Bob and family-I thought of Ann today and just came across her obituary three years on. I so enjoyed singing with, learning from, and knowing her when we were in the Imperial Valley 1997-2001. Her spirit continues! Prayers for you all.

Mrs. Horne was my Estudiantina teacher at Calexico H.S. from 1989-1991 she was the best music teacher . We traveled to Las Vegas and San Diego . She was so dedicated to her job and her students. RIP and I will see you soon my dear lovely teacher

Ann was a talented delightful woman. We were automatically friends because my dad worked for Womack Mitchell. We both enjoyed talking about her father and my dad.

I was lucky the day someone gave me Ann's name to help with my genealogy. She corresponded with me on and off over 25 years. We shared New York family lines....she was always willing to help and share.
I'll bet she is meeting all the ancestors up there right now!

My condolences to the entire Horne family. Reading all the beautiful tributes only makes me wish I had known her better. You are all so fortunate to have had her for so many years. A special lady. God bless.

If there was one adult I can look back at in my life outside of my family who made me believe in myself and always told me, "You can do it!," it was Mrs. Horne.
My coach, my director, my spiritual advisor, my voice teacher and all around loving person who took so many under her wings, has gone to heaven. I'm so sad to learn of her passing but joyous knowing that she has reached that higher level she always shared with me and others. Peace, love and prayers to the Horne and Mitchell...

Ann was my Mom's best friend after Mom (Margaret Carroll) moved back to El Centro. Ann was the best thing that could have happened to my Mom. I was blessed to have been involved w/Ann in the Creation Unlimited Album and my Son (Robert) sang one tour w/ Creation Unlimited. The picture was taken in NYC.
