Not sure what to say?

AC was one of my favorite teachers ever, and remains my go-to example of what a difference a great teacher can make. Before I entered her classroom, algebra was just the sound of grownups talking in a Charlie Brown special - totally unintelligible. After she made math make sense, I stopped fearing it and even doubled up senior year. For an eventual history/French major, that´s saying a lot. I´m so sorry to hear of her passing, but I can´t help smiling as I think of her - she made us...

So sorry to read about the passing of Ann. We had great times during the RVCC Corvair days. Our sympathy to the family. Linda and Richard Durham

My favorite teacher at Stuart Hall! Without her tutoring me in Geometry, I would´ve failed. So, I joined many Stuart Hall girls in needing her help with math; She was so patient and kind! She also took Jamie (my twin sister), Lockhart Ledbetter and me to Afton Mountain to learn how to ice skate!! What a hoot! Jamie agrees that that trip with Miss Hutter was the best. My husband and I moved to Lynchburg in 2002, and I worked at E. C. Glass as one of the librarians. I often thought of her,...

I was sorry to hear about Ann. She and "little"Ann"and I had a lot of fun back in the Computer Services days. She was truly a unique individual! Jim Hicks

Best math teacher I ever had. Actually the best teacher I ever had. Period. She was also one of our dorm mothers. She had a contraband kitty and we loved keeping her secret

AC was one of my absolute favorite teachers at Stuart Hall even though math was my absolute worst subject! One of my fondest memories is sitting in the old wooden chairs in the auditorium, with beautiful snow falling, taking my Algebra 1 exam freshman year which AC was proctoring. As she made her rounds she stopped and glanced at my answers and quietly asked if I had another exam I could be studying for. When I answered yes, she plucked my papers up and excused me since it was evident I...

Ann Carter and I were schoolmates at Garland-Rodes and E.C. Glass. She was a Lynchburg icon!

Ann Carter was my math teacher at Stuart Hall. My love of math grew with each class she taught and it was my college major. She inspired and challenged me. And she had the best sense of humor!

Ann Carter was one of my counselors at Camp Ruthers, in 1959. I enjoyed knowing her that summer. It sounds like she´s had a most interesting and enjoyable life. Rest in Peace, Ann Carter.
