ANSONIA: Ann Kathleen “Kathy” (Solsbury) Renker, age 75, entered eternal rest on November 27, 2023, in the comfort of her home with her loving family by her side. She was the beloved wife of the late Frederick D. Renker. 


     Kathy was born in Derby on October 8, 1948, daughter of the late Henry and Ann Bailey Solsbury. A lifelong resident of Ansonia, she was employed for over forty years at McDonalds on Division Street in Derby. Kathy was kind hearted with a true love for family. She beautifully decorated her home seasonally for all to appreciate. Kathy enjoyed cooking, baking, and going shopping. She also liked planning parties. Her favorite treat was Munson’s chocolates. 


     Kathy leaves to cherish her memory, a brother, Kevin G. Solsbury (Karen) of Carbondale, PA, sisters, Maureen Solsbury of Ansonia, and Ellen Marie Stefancin (Richard) of Derby, along with numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and one great-great nephew. She was predeceased by her daughter, Shannon Renker LeLacheur and brothers, Robert, Patrick, Shaun, and Keith Solsbury. 


     Relatives and friends are invited to greet the family and pay their respects on Friday, December 1, 2023, from 4:00-7:00 pm in the chapel of SPINELLI-RICCIUTI FUNERAL HOME, 62 Beaver Street in Ansonia. On Saturday morning, her funeral will begin at 9:15 am from the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am at Holy Rosary Church in Ansonia. Interment will follow in Mount Saint Peters Cemetery in Derby. Contributions in Kathy’s memory may be made directly to Connecticut Hospice, 100 Double Beach Road, Branford, CT 06405. To The Solsbury Family,

Our immediate families grew up together in Ansonia, Many, Many years ago. We were all grew up together and it was a Great Time. It was a multi=family house and we always could be found in one apartment or the other. Although only five years older than myself her Brother as I called him "Patty Mike" and I were always getting into trouble. And if it wasn't for Auntie Ann or my mother catching us it was Kathy who always covered for both of us. As years went...

I can't finds the words to express how much we are saddened by your passing...Your brother and I love you and we will miss you so much..You were an amazing women. I love the way the family looked up to you..I have only been apart of this family for 14 years .I wish we had more years with you...But I know you are with Fred and Shannon now..R.I.P my awesome sister in law ..Love Karen

Kathy was a great person. I often think back to the laughs we had at McDonalds.

Dear Maureen, Ellen and family, So sorry to hear of Kathy’s passing. She was so kind , remarkable and a pillar of strength. She loved her entire family unconditionally and was so proud of all of them. She’s at peace now with Fred and Shannon. My prayers and thoughts are with all of you.
