LYON, ANNE Anne Lyon, the vivacious and feisty mother of eleven, left to be with her husband Andy and the Lord on Saturday, September 12, 2009. Because she was so devoted to her children and loved them so deeply, she was overjoyed that they were able to be with her in her final days. The day before leaving us, our mother was upbeat, tapping her toes as one of her sons serenaded her. That night she attended her favorite team, the Dons, football game and cheered them to victory. Mother enjoyed life to the fullest. She was an incredible cook and loved hosting dinner parties. She was fond of traveling, especially to Japan and Ireland. She always accepted rides on the back of her sons' motorcycles and was thrilled when her grandson gave her an Irish tattoo for her 80th birthday. Mother spent 40 years working in the insurance industry. She loved to dance and visit museums, was very active in her church, counseled heart patients, and volunteered in the hospital's gift shop. As a grandmother of 31 and great-grandmother of 16, she enjoyed attending their sporting events, recitals, and plays. Family was extremely important to our mother- she always shared fond memories of her siblings Mary, Suzanne (her identical twin), Carolyn, and Bill. Our world will never be the same without her. A Viewing will be held at El Camino Memorial Park, 5600 Carroll Canyon Road., San Diego on Thursday, September 17th, at 5 p.m., followed by a Rosary at 6 p.m. The funeral Mass will be said on Friday, September 18th, at 11:30 a.m. at All Hallows Church, 6602 La Jolla Scenic Dr. South, San Diego. We love you mother, Mary, Carol, Michael, Patrick, Timothy, Dennis, Kevin, Casey, Sean, Colleen, and Matthew.
