Anne Madding Obituary

It is with a heavy heart to say that my mom, Anne Madding, was called home to our Heavenly Father on Saturday, January 20, 2024, to join Heaven's choir. We will deeply miss her. She was a unique soul and spirit. She was loved by many and will be truly missed. Fly high with the angels Mom, Memere, our Saint. You are now another St. Ann (but with an e). She is survived by her only daughter, Stella Behre and her former husband, James Dial along with her five grandchildren, Salie Rouse, Brendan Behre, Yvette Behre, Chloe Behre and Zoe Behre. Ann worked for the US Postal Service, serving in several positions that saw her in Washington and throughout the Southeast Louisiana area. Later, she became a postmaster in Folsom, LA. After retiring, she devoted much of her time to St. Christopher the Martyr, becoming very actively involved. It was her hobby, passion and joy. She even received the Order of the St. Louis Medallion. She was also blessed with culinary wizardry; her red gravy was a favorite. However, it was the love of people who watered her garden and made it bloom. She relished the company and socialization of others which was the essence of who she was. Services will be held at St. Christopher the Martyr Church, 309 Manson Avenue in Metairie, LA on Wednesday, 01/31/2024. Visitation will begin at 11:00 am followed by the Funeral Mass at 1:00 pm. Interment will be in St. Louis no. 3 Cemetery in New Orleans, LA. Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.LeitzEaganFuneralHome.com.

I always admired Anne´s dedication to her grandchildren and Catholic religion. Rest In Peace, Anne!!

So sorry for the loss of Anne. I remember her as the daughter of my mom´s (IsabelleDamare Martinez) cousin Yvette. She was a beautiful child with jet black hair and big eyes. I see she grew up to be an even more beautiful woman with many accomplishments and a beautiful family. May she rest in the Peace of our Blessed Savior.

And you would like a sister to me we went to school together and grew up together. Things come up, and we lost track through the years but you did me a big favor when you sent the priest to my dying Marilyn for this act of kindness, I remember the sisterly love that we had And I thank you from the bottom of my heart. I will remember you with prayers and think of you as a very kind soul you like others had many good times and bad times in life, but you seem to manage to come through visit Marilyn in heaven, along with your family love and pray pray Karen
