Annella Szanyi

1943 - 2023

After a short battle with breast cancer, Annella Szanyi, age 80, passed away on October 31, 2023 at the North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo, Miss.

Annella was born on September 11, 1943 to Sidney and Ione Shinault in Byhalia, Miss. She worked for the City of Memphis until her retirement. She was married to the love of her life, William Szanyi, and they enjoyed their life together, especially travelling. She moved to Tupelo five years ago to be closer to her sister, Theresa. Besides doing ?sister things", some of her favorite activities included the Women's Explorer Bible Study Group and the Wilemon Sunday School Ladies Group, both at the Harrisburg Baptist Church. Life was full and she smiled.

Annella was predeceased by her husband, William Szanyi; her parents, Sidney and Ione Shinault; and brothers, Joey Shinault and Cecil Shinault.

She is survived by her stepdaughter, Roganne Stutos (Pete) of Los Angeles, Calif.; brother, Sid Shinault (Elaine) of Olive Branch, Miss.; her sister, Theresa Shinault London (Larry) of Tupelo, Miss. and her sister-in-law, Rebecca Shinault of Kentucky.

A Celebration of her Life will be held at 10 am on Thursday, November 2, 2023 at the Harrisburg Baptist Church in Tupelo. Graveside service will be held at 2 pm at the cemetery in Byhalia, Miss. Brantley Funeral Home of Olive Branch, Miss. is in charge of the arrangements.
