Anthony Duplessis Obituary

Anthony A. Duplessis, of Jefferson, Louisiana, died on Monday, September 13, 2021. He was 72 years of age. Anthony is survived by his beloved wife of 38 years, Corinne M. Duplessis; two loving sons, Mark S. Duplessis (Sarah Aycock) and Russell J. Watkin (Alyson); and a stepbrother, Raymond P. Duplessis (Carol). He also leaves behind many loving family members and friends, including friends and members of IDN-Acme, Inc.; Ochsner Westbank Hospital; Jefferson Department of Juvenile Services; St. Agnes Eucharistic Ministries; St. Jerome Council No. 6746, the William J. Guste, Sr. Assembly No. 331; the Krewe of Excalibur; and his many hunting buddies, who are all warmly invited to attend his service. Anthony was born on July 23, 1949 in New Orleans to the late Joseph and Marguerite Duplessis. In 1967, he graduated from Cor Jesu High School and attended the University of New Orleans. From 1969 until 1977, he served in the United States Navy, where he was a radio operator. After his time in the Navy, Anthony began his career in security hardware sales where he was a senior representative. Anthony was a longstanding parishioner of St. Agnes Catholic Church, where he treasured his experience of being an Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion. He was additionally a member of the Knights of Columbus in St. Agnes's Marion Council and later became a member of the St. Jerome Council No. 6746 and the William J. Guste, Sr. Assembly No. 331. He loved Mardi Gras and held membership with the Krewe of Atlas, the Krewe of Buccaneers Marching Club, and the Krewe of Excalibur since its inception in 2000. Since his childhood, Anthony enjoyed both duck and goose hunting. He was also a DJ for 16 years with Delta Entertainment. The family would like to give special thanks to the staff at Ochsner Hospital's 10th Floor and the 10th floor West Wing I.C.U., as well as his many wonderful family, friends, and neighbors. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Anthony's memory to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network, www.pancan.org, to further the cause of pancreatic cancer research.
