Not sure what to say?

On behalf of the Ramalho family, I am extending our deepest sympathy to the family of Anthony "Butchie" Gomes. The Gomes and Ramalho families have a long history of friendship. For instance, my Aunt, Bia Ramalho-Galvin, and Butchie's sister, Mary, were the best of friends during the 60's. Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you.

To the Gomes family,
My deepest sympathy on your loss of such a great friendly & caring man. I'm glad to say that I've had the most pleasure and honor working together many times with Tony, always smiling & sharing jokes, made a hectic day always better by days end. He also befriended my elderly aunt & uncle when they resided at the Ellsworth Apts in the 80's and always made it a point to stop in & visit them and say "hi" and if they had any concerns for their safety there. He truly had a...

To The Gomes Family:
My wife and I are very saddened in learning of Tony's passing.
Tony and I joined the Police Department on April 12, 1978. We were good friends and partners for many years. Tony was loved by my entire family. He always had a smile and joke to tell. He came to our home many times for dinner. He loved our Puerto Rican food.
Rest in peace Tony. You will be in our hearts and thoughts forever.

We were more than partners. We were best friends. Butch, you said more than once that we were twins born a year apart. I still consider you my brother. Until we meet again.

To The Gomes Family,
I offer my sincere condolences in the passing of Tony. We were Officers together on the P.D. Tony had the highest respect from fellow Officers, as well as the citizens he served so proudly. Tony is an example to all that knew him of possessing a kind heart and caring; and being ready and willing to help anyone in need. God bless you, Brother. Rest in peace.

Uncle Butchy,

On last Sunday when I visited you I saw on your face that you were growing very tired, I knew then that you were making the transition between this life and to be with our father... it is at that moment that our father took you by the hand and gracefully welcomed you home. I know that God was expecting you because when I prayed with you and asked did you except JESUS as your Lord and Savior I remember tears fell down your cheek and you started to cry. I will always...

To the Gomes Family; Just want to express our sincere condolences to you on the lost of your loved one. "Tony" was a great friend and he will surely be missed.May the Lord comfort and guide you in your time of sorrow.

I am deeply saddened in learning of Tony's passing. He was one of the most personable, and likable individuals I had the privilege of being associated with. He always had a smile on his face and would always talk about "family". When he left the Bridgeport PD they lost a caring professional. He was truly a person of character. God bless you Tony. I hope I will one day see your infectious smile once again.

Tony you where a excelent police officer. It was a pleasure working with you. God bless you.
