Antonia Hale Obituary

WILLIAMSBURG - Antonia E. T. Hale, 82, passed away Friday, June 5, 2009.
Born in Russia, Aug. 9, 1926, she retired from the reservation office of Colonial Williamsburg in 1991 after more than 30 years of service. She was very industrious, strove for excellence, and enjoyed traveling extensively with her granddaughter.
Preceding her in death are her husband, Charlie Hale Sr.; and her son, Charlie Hale Jr.
She is survived by her son, Tony Hale of Williamsburg; and granddaughter, Shannon Hale of Toano.
The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 11, 2009, at Nelsen Funeral Home, 3785 Strawberry Plains Road, Williamsburg, VA 23188. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. The burial will take place at Williamsburg Memorial Park; services will be officiated by the Rev. Bill Butterfield.

Toni was an extraordinary woman with a remarkable story accentuated by an iron will and a heart of gold. I'll miss laughing with her about her unique Anglo/Russian word pronunciations, and I will miss those birthday and Christmas cards signed "From Russia with Love!"
