Antonio Eduardo Arce

ARCE, ANTONIO EDUARDO, 78 resident of Miami, FL. His friends and family knew him as Tony. He was a devoted husband, father, and grand-father. He was born in Quayaquil, Ecuador and went to school at The Manilus School in Syracuse, New York . After graduating from high school, Tony served in the U.S. Army with the U.S. Army Corp of Engineers and after being honorable discharged, graduated from the University of Miami with a Bachelors degree in Architectural Engineering. Tony was recognized as having saved the component industry from disaster in 1977, and was nicknamed the Father of the Q-Factor. He and his wife, Martha, later founded Arce Engineering Company in 1979, a structural engineering firm nationally known for its flagship design engineering software, "Truss- Pro." Despite his professional accomplishments, Tony's true passion was classical guitar and he became an accomplished guitarist having many live performances throughout his lifetime, as well as live recordings. Tony was a man full of energy and life and was always quick to tell a joke. He became friends with everyone he met, from the mailman to the the dry cleaning propreiter to the manager at his local Publix supermarket. He will always be known for his thoughtful gestures and for always being an attentive friend. Tony's last words before he passed away in his sleep at his home in Miami were, "I am calm now." He was listening to the works of Mozart and next to him was his beloved wife. His wife, Martha Rodriguez Arce; children, Antonio Eduardo Arce III (Barbara Coto Arce); Martha Arce Hoffmann (Dirk Hoffmann); Ricardo Andres Arce (Samantha Lucas Arce), grandhcildren Max, Sofia and Sammy, and extended family, appreciate the expressions of condolences, received.
