I have lovely memories of Uncle Arthur. He was the first person I knew to have a tattoo and I thought him "so out there" to have one. He honoured his navy experience with that reminder. I had a lot of good conversations with him about my father (his brother) and grandparents which helped me to know my grandparents better, from an adult point of view.
