ARTHUR ELIAS Obituary

ELIAS --Arthur L.,

92, died peacefully April 12, 2018. He is survived by his wife, Lois Elias, his daughter, Minna Elias, and two grandchildren, Talia and Oren Barnoy. Born in McKeesport, PA, Arthur attended Carnegie Tech after serving in World War II. After obtaining a Master's from the University of Pittsburgh, he moved to Paris with Lois to paint. As the center of the art world shifted to New York, they moved to the city. Arthur's work was shown at numerous galleries, most recently at the Prince Street Gallery. In 1972, his work was featured at the Whitney Museum's show 22 Realists. In 1991, he and Lois inherited the literary work of their longtime friend, Bella Spewack, including Kiss Me, Kate. Arthur and Lois helped bring the play back to Broadway in 1999.
