Today, we celebrate the life of a devoted Husband, Father, Son, Brother, Uncle, Friend and Servant of the Lord
Arthur Fields Jr. (Sonny, CowBoy) was born on July 18, 1939 in Shaw, Mississippi to Arthur Sr. and Gearldine Fields. Arthur was the oldest of 11 siblings. In 1954, Arthur and his family moved from Mississippi to Gary Indiana. Arthur graduated from high school in 1959.
Arthur started working at LTV (Youngstown) as a Steel furnace worker. He retired in 2010 with 52 years. Arthur met the love of his life Ernestine Clark, they married on July 7, 1964. To this union they had a daughter, Augustine (Augie), son, Jason Fields, Adopted sons/Godsons; Johnny Barnes, Lawan Atkins. Arthur loved his wife and children. He loved spending his quality time taking pictures for social events such as family reunions, birthday parties, and holidays. He loved taking long drives and traveling around the world. He was an excellent grill master.
On Sunday, May 1st, 2022, The Lord wrapped His arms around him and said, “You’ve fought a good battle and finished your course.” He was preceded in death by his son, Jason Fields, Mother Geraldine Fields, Father Arthur Fields Sr. 4 brothers Virgil, Elijah (Eli) and Prentis and Willie Fields. 3 Sisters Leaner Fields Carnes, Bessie and Gloria Fields. He will be forever missed by his loving wife Ernestine Fields and daughter Augustine Fields. 1 brothers, Griffin (Diane) Fields. 2 Sisters, Veronica Fields, Jacqueline Fields and a host of other relatives, cousins nieces, nephews and friends.

RIP Mr. Fields. You were a great man and role model! You were always nice and had a big smile for everyone. I will never forget you taking me to a Cubs game at Wrigley with you and Jason (RIP) and you also took to me to a Bulls game in Chicago to see the 76ers and Dr. J and Moses Malone with you and Jason!
