Bill DeBerry Funeral Directors - Denton Obituary

Ashley Denise Dattalo, a beautiful gentle soul and a friend to so many, passed away at the young age of 26, on March 5, 2022 in Denton, Texas. She lived in Corinth, Texas.  On June 25, 1995 she was welcomed to this world by Scott and Lidia Dattalo.

Ashley attended CalPoly in San Luis Obispo where she received her Bachelor of Science in Computer Science.

Ashley was a loving and compassionate person. She had a beautiful smile and radiating green eyes that could light up your soul.

Ashley had a passion for the outdoors and athletics. As a child she excelled at soccer and track and as a young adult at Cal Poly she ran half marathons and hiked the verdant hills nestling San Luis Obispo. It was in the surrounding beauty of her college countryside where she nurtured a spiritual connection to nature and often watched the sunrise from the mountain tops. She sought meaning beyond the material, and pondered life and purpose. With lighthearted enthusiasm she would close her eyes and throw her arms to the skies and let nature flow through her soul. Forever one with the universe.

The relationship she had with her younger sister and best friend, Amanda Dattalo, was rare. Whether snuggling to watch movies or just hanging out together, they had a special connection.

Ashley enjoyed spending time and playing cards with her brother, sister and Mom. She enjoyed watching the moon, sunset and swimming at the lake. She loved the beach.

She discovered her passion and natural ability for art and loved to paint.

Ashley prayed to God with one of her groups on a regular basis. She led the group in singing Amazing Grace.

She is survived by her mother and father, sister, Amanda Dattalo of Corvallis, Oregon, and brother, Shawn Dattalo of Corinth, Tx..

A Celebration of Life service will be held at Irving Bible Church at 2435 Kinwest Parkway in Irving, Texas on Saturday, March 12, 2022 at 11 am.

Not sure what to say?

It is crazy how certain people are put in your life for different reasons. So many questions of why Ashley was in my life for such a short time. Ashley was such a kind and sweet soul. So creative, artistic and smart. She was beautiful inside and out. She had a caring spirit and a beautiful smile. Even though she was only on this planet for a short time, she made a huge impact in my life and others in my community. I wish I could have gotten to know her longer. Praying for Ashley’s family...

The world has lost a gentle soul in Ashley! I was her first grade teacher and I remember her well. Ashley’s kindness and willingness to help her friends didn’t go unnoticed. She was always smiling! Prayers are with her family. Xox

Shocked and saddened to hear about the passing of a childhood friend. Though we had not spoken for many years, I will remember Ashley as a beautifully kind and sweet soul. Prayers and condolences to the family on this tragic loss.

Sending many prayers to your family. God Bless.

Ashley was an extremely warm person who was able to build lasting friendships with everyone she met. She will be sorely missed by her friends, family, and loved ones.
