Ashley Wills TIDY

Ashley Tidy was an exceptional choir director and organist who made a big impression on the young choristers who sang for him at St. Hilda's Church back in the early 1960s. When he travelled abroad during the summer he sent a post card to my sister, and me, our first from overseas. Over many years he scanned obituaries for the names of those he had trained and found that of our mother. My sincere and very deepest condolences to the family. Mr. Tidy was a big part of my highschool life that I'm very grateful for. He believed in his students talented or not. He was one of those golden teachers who could and did change lives, I know that for a fact. I'd definitely would be there but I now reside in New Brunswick but will be there in thought and mind. My sincere condolences to the Tidy family. Ashley was a wonderful, kind and generous man. He has been our organist at Ionic lodge for quite some years. It was an honour to call him brother. It will not be the same without him.

My sincerest condolences to the family of Ashley Tidy. It was a privilege to have Ashley Tidy play the organ at St. John's Milliken Presbyterian Church shortly prior to his death. He really blessed our services with his excellent organ playing. His rendition of the tune "Happy Birthday" was simply marvellous and memorable. He will always be remembered with fond memories.
