CARTLEDGE, Aubrey Lane Aubrey Lane Cartledge was born in Leah, Georgia on December 27, 1926 to Stewart Phinizy and Annie Miles. He was preceded in death by his brothers Stewart and Willard and his sister Dorothy Farr. He is survived by his wife of 70 years Virginia Morris; his daughter, Julia Crump, his son, Aubrey Lane (Vickie) Cartledge; his grandchildren Kevin (Christy) Cartledge, Virginia Lane (Casey) Cox, Blake Crump, Audra Cartledge and Kyle (Lindsey) Cartledge; great grandchildren and great, great grandchildren. As a young family man he enjoyed hunting, fishing, skiing and camping. He loved watching his kids playing high school sports. He continued his love for sport by teaching his grandchildren to play pool and took them on late night fishing expeditions at Lake Allatoona when they were just tots. Later in life he became an avid golfer with four holes in one. His favorite playing partners were his son and grandsons. As a construction superintendent he was responsible for many of the skyscrapers in Atlanta that now shape our city skyline. He retired after the completion of the C & S Bank now the Nations Bank, the tallest building in the Southeast. The family would like to thank the staff at Windsor House and Manorcare for their kind, loving care of their beloved PaPa.
