One of the finest Commanding Officers I had the honor to serve under.

Mrs. Jane I am Rod mother My name is Brenda Mims Rod would tell me how Mr. Scott would always ask how I was doing I will never forget how kind Mr. Scott was When He was at DSS. May God be with you and keep you.

An important part of my spiritual life was being in a Cursillo reunion group with Austin. We met for more than 20 years and I cherish my time with Austin. May ne rest in Peace.

Admiral Scott was a man of such integrity that he influenced both me as a person and my naval career. His loss is the greater for me because I could not thank him for his support and kindness in years of service.

Dear Jane,
I just found out about Austin's passing and thus cannot be with you and family today. You know how much I admired him and was so glad to visit you and him in mid-2016. In 1979, when he was the Flotilla commander, he spoke at my assumption of command using the movie "The Right Stuff" as his theme.
