An important part of my spiritual life was being in a Cursillo reunion group with Austin. We met for more than 20 years and I cherish my time with Austin. May ne rest in Peace.

Admiral Scott was a man of such integrity that he influenced both me as a person and my naval career. His loss is the greater for me because I could not thank him for his support and kindness in years of service.

Dear Jane,
I just found out about Austin's passing and thus cannot be with you and family today. You know how much I admired him and was so glad to visit you and him in mid-2016. In 1979, when he was the Flotilla commander, he spoke at my assumption of command using the movie "The Right Stuff" as his theme. What an incredible American! I had the great fortune of knowing Mr. Austin, but I did not know some of the details of his service. Absolutely stunning. Sincerest condolences to Ms. Jane and family. My God be with you.
