An important part of my spiritual life was being in a Cursillo reunion group with Austin. We met for more than 20 years and I cherish my time with Austin. May ne rest in Peace.

Admiral Scott was a man of such integrity that he influenced both me as a person and my naval career. His loss is the greater for me because I could not thank him for his support and kindness in years of service.

Dear Jane,
I just found out about Austin's passing and thus cannot be with you and family today. You know how much I admired him and was so glad to visit you and him in mid-2016. In 1979, when he was the Flotilla commander, he spoke at my assumption of command using the movie "The Right Stuff" as his theme. I was also instrumental in getting him to accept the Westinghouse offer in 1994 to be the program manager for the Defense Wast Processing Facility (DWPF). He did a great job getting this major facility operational and assisting Westinghouse in many other programs. Also his community work in Aiken made it a greater place to live.
I am glad we kept in touch over these many years and I will remember him always. My deepest condolences to you and your very large family.
Very sincerely,
Mario

What an incredible American! I had the great fortune of knowing Mr. Austin, but I did not know some of the details of his service. Absolutely stunning. Sincerest condolences to Ms. Jane and family. My God be with you.
Family doesn't have to be someone who came into your life years ago, it can be someone who showed up out of the blue and made your life better.

Family isn't always blood. Family is someone who loves and cares for you like you are their own, even if you're not.
