Avery Teresa Moore was born on Friday, February 23, 2018 in Augusta, Ga. After fighting so incredibly hard for over four months, she entered into rest on Sunday, July 1st, at Children's Hospital of Atlanta embraced in her mother's loving arms, holding her father's hand, and surrounded by those who loved her.

Although she was only with us for a short time, her life inspired thousands who followed her story. Avery's big brown eyes, curly brown hair and sweet courageous spirit forever changed our world.

The great hope of the family is in the anticipation of being with Avery again in glory, where "God will wipe every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more."

She is survived by her mother, Alison Nicole Moore, her father, Steven Dwayne Moore, as well as loving grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins. Avery was preceded in death by her paternal grandmother, Teresa Bohannon, and her paternal grandfather, Dwayne Moore.

Steven and Alison would like to personally thank Avery's nurses for all of their love, compassion and support. We will be forever grateful.

Public visitation will be on Sunday, July 8, at Elliott Sons Funeral Home, 4255 Columbia Rd. in Augusta, GA from 5 PM to 7 PM. A private funeral service will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, we are requesting donations be made to the Avery Moore Foundation which will be set up in her honor in hopes of helping other children and families devastated by the reality of congenital heart disease. Donations can be made at South State Bank to the account 'Avery Moore Foundation' or arrangements can be made with the family.

I have been following the posts of your beautiful baby girl. My heart was saddened to hear of her death, for I know what you all are going through. When God took my baby girl many years ago, it was so hard to understand. My answer came from my Christian Father, who told me God never makes a mistake and I was not to question His will. That's a hard thing to do, but will get you through the hard times and the promise of seeing her again. Our faith in God gives us that promise. My heartfelt prayers are lifted up for all your family. Avery touched my life as she did so many others. My niece was born Feb 23 also. She was 30 years old and diagnosed with ovarian cancer in November and passed on Valentine's Day the next year.
