I will cherish Barbara's memory. She and I were classmates from kindergarten thru 9th grade. Although we then went to different high schools we reconnected at Penn State. Later, at our 25th Penn State reunion, we met again and, as fellow book lovers and readers, continued our connection ever since, with frequent emails and letters, book recommendations and occasional lunches in Philadelphia. Barbara and I met in the library of Lenape Junior High School in Doylestown in 1963, where we were both teachers. We bonded immediately and were very close friends ever since. No matter where we lived, we were in frequent touch and saw each other whenever possible for 61 years. She even visited us when we lived in Italy.
