Barbara Sitter Carroll-Kirkland

Kansas City, Missouri - Barbara (Sitter) Carroll-Kirkland was born on January 18, 1946 to Vincent and Mary Ann (Hofer) Sitter. She graduated from Arma High School and Kansas State College of Pittsburg (Pittsburg State University) with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting.

Barbara worked as a general accountant and tax accountant for Butler Manufacturing Company in Kansas City, Missouri from 1969 to 2006 when she retired.

Barbara married Alan Carroll on July 2, 1982. He preceded her in death on May 18, 1995. She married Jack Kirkland on May 31, 1997. He also preceded her in death on October 25, 2015.

Barbara was also preceded in death by her parents; her step-mother, Manta Sitter; brothers, Vincent Sitter, Jr., Richard Biancarelli, and Louis Biancarelli; sister, Marie Meserko; brother-in-law, Joe Meserko; and sisters-in-law, Eileen Sitter, and Joann Biancarelli.

Barbara is survived by her sister, Theresa (John) Renn; sister-in-law, Lucille Biancarelli; Also surviving her are her nieces and nephews, including Michael (Rita) Meserko, Sandra (David) Lowery, Brian (Tammy) Renn, Jason Renn, Paula (Doug) Renn-Eller, Vincent Meserko, Katie (Dan) Meserko-Fitzpatrick, Brandon Lowery, Christopher Lowery, Shelby Smith, Grant Smith, Kinley Renn, Mirinda Lowery, Ken (Carol) Biancarelli, Judy (Jack) Freeman, Craig Biancarelli, Nancy (Larry) Brunetti, Sal Fitzpatrick, and Hudson Smith.

Barbara cherished her family and her best times were spent with them. Although Barbara did not have any children of her own, all of her nieces and nephews were her children. She loved and adored them all.

A visitation will be held on August 19, 2025, at 11:00 am at White Chapel Funeral Home, located at 6600 NE Antioch Rd, Gladstone, MO, 64119. A funeral service will begin at 12:00 pm, followed by a graveside service in White Chapel Memorial Gardens.
