Barbara "Bobbie" Sheppard Davis
February 12, 1928 - March 9, 2022
Charlotte, North Carolina - After living a full and joyous life, Bobbie Davis passed away peacefully Wednesday, March 9th, 2022.
Bobbie was born in Augusta, GA February 12, 1928. She attended Berry College in Mt. Berry, GA before finally settling in Charlotte, NC where she was a swim teacher for over 30 years with the YMCA, was an active member of Hawthorne Lane United Methodist Church for 60 years and was a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother and friend of many.
Her beloved husband of 63 years, Alton Watts Davis preceded her in death.
Also preceding her in death were her grandson Captain William Lee Davis, USAF, her parents and her siblings.
Bobbie is survived by her 3 sons and their wives: Joe and Tamara Davis of Charlotte, NC, Tom and Helen Davis of Louisville, KY and Larry "Allen" Davis and Dawn Neatherly of Sylva, NC; two gift daughters, Connie Thomas and Bridget Wells of Purlear, NC, 8 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.
Bobbie will be greatly missed by all that knew her.
There will be a celebration of her life held March 26th, 2022 at Hawthorne Lane United Methodist Church, 501 Hawthorne Lane, Charlotte, NC 28204 from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Donations can be made in memory of Bobbie to: Levine & Dickson Hospice House or Hawthorne Lane United Methodist Church.
