To the family of Barbara Groves, I wanted your family to know that I was the very lucky person who was able to purchase Barb's fabric and sewing "stash". I wanted you to know that all of her beautiful fabrics and embellishments went to a good home. I have been an embroiderer, quilter, sewer and needle worker since I was about 12. I'm now 65 years old, and my focus is sewing quilted "art" garments. As I read through Barb's obituary, I found out her and I shared a fondness for the very same...

I put on my kimono jacket for a Christmas potluck and thought of Barb. She was a great teacher. Her classes were always fun, interesting and challenging. And, we laughed and laughed. She taught me to look at fabric with new eyes and just not be afraid to try something.
