My condolences to Barbara's family. My introduction to art history was a survey course she taught in 1974 at Rutgers, Camden. It was life changing for me. I found a new passion and someone who became a true mentor. I was a senior and though my direction was set. Single Memorial Tree

My introduction to art history was in 1974 when I took a survey course at Rutgers, Camden taught by Barbara. It was life changing for me as I discovered a passion and found a true mentor. I was a senior and thought it was too late for me to change my direction. Her response was "you're just a late bloomer." She opened a door for me into a world I'd never imagined. I remember going to her home in Narberth to see her Pechstein prints. In graduate school I took as many of her courses as I could....

I remember Barbara very fondly and remember her broad, friendly smile. She was my professor at Rutgers where she encouraged my work. I later became a colleague in Northern Art and I really liked her. I want to extend my sympathies to her entire family. (I apologize for writing this "late" as a friend just sent the announcement to me this evening--knowing I had sincere affection for her)
