Barbara Simons Obituary
February 7, 1953 - February 28, 2025
Barb Potter Simons (Christiansen), 72, of Goodyear, AZ, formerly of Cedar Falls, IA, passed away on February 28, 2025, after bravely fighting pancreatic cancer. Born on February 7, 1953, in Omaha, NE, Barb lived a joyous life full of family and friends. She graduated from Cedar Falls High School in 1971 and Pitzie's College of Beauty in 1973, practicing cosmetology for 45 years.
In her retirement, she traveled with her husband Rich and friends to Europe, Canada, Alaska, Hawaii, and enjoyed time with her granddaughter and son in Florida and the Caribbean.
Barb is survived by her husband Richard Christiansen; her child John Ramer and granddaughter Addison Ramer; sister Nancy Potter-Johnson, Sun City, AZ ; brothers Jack Potter (Amy), Edmunds, WA, Tom Potter (Lanette), Fruita, CO, and Brad Potter Overland Park, KS, (Janice). She was loved by many relatives and lifelong friends.
A celebration of Barb's life will be held on April 6, 2025, from 10 a.m. to 12 N at her nephew Benjamin Wagner's home in Phoenix, AZ. Donations may be directed to the HonorHealth Foundation, specifically the HonorHealth Research Institute - Pancreatic Cancer - Dr. Borazanci, 8125 Hayden Rd, Scottsdale, AZ 85258.

Barb cut my hair for years & years, until she moved south. Such a kind friend, & was born on Laura Ingalls Wilder´s birthday. Favorite author, & Barb a favored friend. Rest in Peace Barb, you are so loved.

So sorry to hearbof Barb's passing. You have our deepest sympathys. Barb's was a good friend , here in Cedar Falls, ia. And yrs. Ago cut my hair.at Smooth Operators!. Was always great to see her. At Sturgis Fall's Weekend celebration. Rip Barb. Your journey is over, and you now. Have gone HOME, to be with our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ! In Jesus name, Amen!

Barb was a friendly and fun gal. I was shocked to hear of her death. She will be missed by all who knew her.
