it is difficult to lose a friend because real friends are tough to find, always upbeat barry and i umpired numerous high school and men's league games, when i had open heart surgery in 2014 barry made sure to visit me when i was in the hospital, his friend steve mattis got us hats to wear during men's league games, has a n, because for some reason my emails end with an n, my faith in Christ sustains me and encourages me i can hopefully see barry again some day

Barry and his family lived on Little John Trail when my family lived a few houses apart on JoAnn Drive. We were in the same Cub Scouts troop and attended all twelve years of school together at Sedalia Park, East Cobb, and Wheeler. I also gave him a hard time because he was two days older than me.

After we were grown, I would find him every now and then on a trail at Kennesaw Mountain. Barry never changed - he as a good man filled with humor and always smiling.

My deepest sympathy to his mother, to Pam, and to his children.

Barry was a super person and we are all better off for having known him. I will miss his infectious smile and positive attitude. The Men's Adult Baseball League has lost a very good friend. Especially the Sidewinders.....

Greetings Suttles family! I was flagged down on my street in Charlotte by Melissa Burns from Marietta (One of Wheeler's finest). She said Fred, your freshman roommate at Georgia, Barry had passed away....I cried and smiled all the way to work....his Faith in our Lord and the Gospel & Contemporary Christian music that I had to Listen to in our dorm in 1978 rubbed off on Me, but no one knew!!!
The journey that started 9 years later was one that Barry & God sowed & sewed together. I often would call Barry every year just to tell Him thanks for leading me to Jesus through his music, kindness and just putting up me.
It's a long and wonderful story that starts with A Georgia sophomore being a strong Christian Big Brother Barry....never wavering....never trying make me feel like I was falling short...as a Freshman!!! He truly is sitting with our Lord at the Table tonight....Peace Be With Y'all!
Love to you All,
Fred Griffith

Willie, Pam, Stephanie, Eric and Family , Got to know Barry thru Sandy Plains baseball when Eric played there. I did know of Barry when he played football at Wheeler and I was coaching boys' basketball at Walton . Really got to know Barry and Eric well when Eric was playing East Cobb baseball with my son, Ryan, and traveling every where. The most memorable trip was to the USSSA World Series in Detroit . We had a day off in the tournament and Barry and I took a van load of boys over to Ann Arbor to the Wolverines football stadium and had 100 yd. foot races on the field. WE also toured the Motown Music Museum in Detroit. For the last 5 months, he and I had shared scripture on FB . I know he was a believer and I know he is smiling down on us . " BARRY, I HOPE THEY HAVE BASEBALL IN HEAVEN."

To the Suttle family, my prayers are with you guys. No words can express what you guys are going through, but I will continue to pray for all of you. I had the pleasure of meeting Barry while me and his son Eric were teammates during the summer of 2010. I remember Barry coming to our games, videoing mine and Eric's swings, and then discussing our at bats at the dinner table after every game! Barry was a true baseball guy and Eric definitely got his love and passion for the game from Barry. That summer was the best summer of my life, and Barry and Eric were a big part of that! The world lost a great man but I know he is still here in spirit.

To the family of Barry Suttle we are sorry for the lost of your loved one. Our family have known Barry throughout the years as Anthony played baseball with Eric. Barry was always such a kind man and friend to us. His smile was always so uplifting, encouraging and inspiring. We wish you the greatest comfort in your hour of sorrow. We wish you the warmth of God's grace upon each of you and may the love of God spread Barry's joy around all of you. He was also such a nice man.

Barry was the highlight of my senior year at Wheeler High School. We had such great times laughing together and usually got in trouble for talking too much in class.
I always hoped to see him again but have lived out of the Atlanta area until recently.
I told my husband recently that I hoped to see Barry at our 40th class reunion in October.
My heart aches for the Suttle family and I pray you will hold tight to the sweet hope of reunion with Barry one day in heaven. How precious are the promises of eternity with our loved ones.
God bless you at this tender time.

Barry was an outstanding student at Wheeler High School. It was a pleasure to know him and teach him. He was a leader in the classroom and in the halls. I was quite pleased to learn that he had become a teacher. We communicated about his new career and I could tell he was excited about teaching youth. All of his Wheeler friends, both classmates and teachers, will miss him so much and will never forget the gift which his life was to us.

To the family, I was so sorry to hear of your loss of Barry. Barry showed what a great man he was going to be early. I had the pleasure of being one of Barry's JV football coaches at Wheeler when he was just 14 years old.

Barry loved playing the game & even after brutal gang tackles, he came up with a grin and asked to run the ball again. Great determination. Great on-field leadership, while having fun at the same time and helping his teammates relax & win. I wished that I had a thousand athletes like Barry.

Mr. Suttle was the substitute for my class for a semester, and every day he had a smile on his face. He had the ability to help us understand the lesson, have fun while learning, and we would somehow almost always finish early. He was one of the most loving men you could ever meet, and he will be missed.

Mr. Suttle taught my Lit class while the teacher was on maternity leave. He was the best sub I have ever had. Also he went out of his way to make sure that understood the lessons. It broke my heart to hear about his passing. He always had a smile on his face and he loved to teach Thank you Mr. Suttle for all that you did for me.

Willie & Family, we are so very saddened to learn of Barry's passing. We so enjoyed working with Barry for all those years at Servpro. He was so helpful and understanding during the office fire. Between that time and the hundreds of homes y'all cleaned for us, we never would've survived without him and y'alls assistance.
He will definitely be missed by all.
May God Bless your family and give you peace.

Our son is a freshman at NCCS and often spoke of Mr. Suttle very fondly. In fact he was on the Local Legacy Spring Term with him just 2 short weeks ago and enjoyed Mr. Suttle's companionship. He had told me about his first grandchild being born just recently and how proud he was of him! Mr. Suttle made quite an impact on Graham- as I am certain he did many people in his life. Our prayers go out to his family and friends that you find comfort in God's arms at this difficult time.

Eric and family,

Praying for your peace as you grieve the loss of Barry.
I only met him one time at the tennis courts, but like many of the comments expressed, I could see he would light up a room and make a huge impact on the lives of many.

What a beautiful soul heaven has gained. I met Eric "Sutt" a few years back while helping coach another team at 643. I met his pops, Barry on accident shortly thereafter at a ball game. He was a great guy and good umpire. I'd always smile when I'd see Barry walk onto the field to call my game. Barry was truly a positive light to those lucky enough to have known him.

Like everyone else Carol and I are shocked and grieving . We love the entire Suttle family dearly. Every time I ever saw Barry it brought joy and smiles. What a genuine man. What a great family man. We will forever be thankful for the experience of knowing Barry and his smile. To this day I still tell people that Eric loves baseball with a passion. I learned early on where he got it. What an example of a loving family.
We love y'all.

My son, Blaine Luca, posted this on his Facebook page. I wanted to share it here..

On April 11th, 2017 God decided that it was time for Barry Suttle to join him in heaven. I don't know any details on how or why this happened but I know enough to know that he will truly be missed. Mr. Suttle, I couldn't of asked for a better influence to come into my life like you did. I looked forward to having you whenever I did and I would always love to see you in the hallways. You were like a wild force of positivity and you spread your happiness to everyone around you faster than the plague. You left quite an impact on my life that I will never forget. I love and miss you man, I hope to see you again in paradise someday.

Our prayers are with you at this time and we hold fast to the promises of God through his son Jesus Christ on this Easter weekend.

Eric & Stephanie,

We are saddened and so sorry for your loss. Having lived next door to "Mr. Barry" as my kids called him, I got to know him well over the years. He loved his baseball and his music and was always quick with a smile and friendly conversation. I remember when T was sick and woke up to come downstairs to a flooded house. Your Dad saw her in the yard and, sensing trouble, asked if everything was ok. She told him of the flood and he grabbed some equipment from his house and began getting rid of the water. By the time I got home from work most of the water was pumped out, thanks to good ol' Mr. Barry! For all of his accomplishments, he was most proud of the two of you! We pray you find comfort and solace in knowing that your Dad is resting in peace and is with our Father in Heaven. If there's anything we can do, please let us know!

Sincerely,

Larry, T, Isabella & Larry III
