I miss you Bart! You will forever be in my heart!

I miss my childhood friend. I have been an RN for 30 years and we reconnected when he also worked for the DOJ. He was so kind to me growing up, as was Bob Hartzell. They always invited me boating, to go bike riding or play basketball. I could make Bart laugh so hard he couldn´t speak and he did the same to me. We got in trouble at a Christmas program at the Baptist church once. We could not stop giggling and I had to leave the stage because I was convulsing with laughter because Bart was next...

I don't even know what made me Google Bart's name today, and I'm so sad to have found this news. I was 17 years old and a freshman in college when I met Bart. He was on rotation at a hospital near my college campus and we saw each other on and off for many years in the mid-to late 80s. So long ago, but I remember him so fondly - gosh he would make me laugh to tears. Funny, smart, kind, aloof - he will always be for me the one that got away. I wish we had reconnected. I was working with Bart in Georgia, he was a great friend, I love to work with him. We had shared our desire to pass the exams and work as a physician. When I successfully completed my revalidation for the Puerto Rican Medical Board, he invited my for a great BBQ after my last shift. Unfortunately I have never met him again. Once I have spoken to him on the phone. I did not know his passing until today! I miss him very much, he was a great human being, it was very tragic his early passing....

I really miss my dear friend. He was such a kind and loving person. When we studied together in college he ways made the evening fun and humorous. I was very saddened by these events and it continues to hurt me deeply! I will always cherish the fond memories!
