Beatriz Mendoza

MENDOZA, BEATRIZ Beatriz Carmen Mendoza, 38, a gifted artist, avid outdoorswomen, environmentalist and social activist, died November 21, 2018 after a valiant struggle with a rare cancer. She grew up in Key Biscayne and before she was diagnosed, she lived on her farm near Asheville called Sparklebark with her husband Zac Singer and her two-year old son Santiago. Beatriz and her family spent her final year with her parents in Miami. In addition to her husband and son and her parents, Enid Duany Mendoza and Sergio Gonzalez de Mendoza, Beatriz is survived by her brother, Sergio Andr‚s Mendoza, her nephew Sergio Michael Mendoza, her niece Anai¨s Mendoza, her maternal grandmother Enid Santos-Buch Duany and her paternal grandmother Elodia de Cardenas Mendoza, as well as an innumerable number of aunt and uncles and cousins. Her sister-in-law, Sarah Fernandez Mendoza, predeceased her. Beatriz had the special gift of making friends and these friends join the family in celebrating her many achievements. A requiem will be held at St. Hugh Church in Coconut Grove on Friday, December 7, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. The family is deeply grateful to her caretakers and medical team.
