Ben: played on Hobart's first hockey team, & was a four year middie on the lacrosse team. In the summer of '65 he ran with the bulls in Pampalona. Classmate, friend, you'll be missed, but fondly remembered. As the author Willa Cather wrote: "The road is all, the end is nothing". Thanks for sharing part of the trip with us.

Ben was a very special friend. In those early years at Hobart he was so full of life and eager to have a good time with his friends. And yet his commitment to varsity lacrosse as middie was indeed admirable. I reconnected with Ben in 1998 when we moved to Mass. We enjoyed getting together for an annual lunch each November. Always a true friend at Hobart William Smith. Ben was the shy, quiet, handsome KA hockey player with that great smile. I can see him now walking down South Main Street from KA to history class. Our reconnecting at the reunion two years ago was very special. We were together most of that weekend.
