Benjamin KIRCHNER Obituary

KIRCHNER, Benjamin Saba 7/22/1985 - 9/6/2016 Benjamin was a sweet child and a wonderful, kind and brilliant man. He loved music, played chess, collected mineral specimens, explored caves and loved traveling through nature in his truck and camping out. "Not all who wander are lost." A second-generation native Tucsonan, Ben loved the Southwest and worked at several national parks. When he was younger he played guitar, drums, basketball and Ultimate Frisbee. He had a gentle soul. Ben had a natural understanding of computers. He was hired two years ago at a wonderful company called Simpleview as a software developer, with little formal training or experience other than his natural gift for understanding and writing elegant computer code. He quickly received several promotions pay raises, becoming a Lead CRM Developer. During that time he completed his Associate's Degree from Pima College in 2015, and was enrolled in the Computer Engineering program at ASU. Ben Kirchner left this life tragically and unexpectedly, but in the end surrounded by his loved ones. He is survived by his parents, Bill and Carla Kirchner; his beloved brother, Jesse Saba Kirchner (Stephanie Brown) and many, many aunts, uncles and cousins, both in the United States and in Italy. A Celebration of Ben's life will be held at Fort Lowell Park, at Ramada #7 (Map at http://goo.gl/gXIBfa) on Saturday, September 17, 2016 from 3:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Please bring a written remembrance you may have of Ben. In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Community Food Bank would be welcomed. Arrangements by DESERT ROSE HEATHER CREMATION & BURIAL.

He was amazing on every level. We are so much poorer without him. I'll miss losing to him in chess and talking to him about anything and everything. Bill, Carla, Jesse, and anyone else who knew him well: you have my sympathies.

Ben was truly an amazing human being. Very smart, talented and he had a natural attraction to learning an array of topics, from physics, math & nature to computer programming & crystallography. I hired Ben at Ruda-Cardinal about 4 years ago. At the time, he didn't know the first thing about computer programming and we taught him how to code. He took to it like wild fire and would spend many hours of his own time at home learning how to code. Within a matter of a few months he was the best programmer at the company. We would spend hours together discussing nature, physics, optics and code; he was very engaging when we talked and I loved that about him. I have met very few people that had such an honest interest in the way the world worked as Ben. Those conversations are some of my fondest memories of Ben, along with our hiking and off-roading trips outdoors. I loved Ben very much and it was wonderful to see how fast he could grow and learn new things. There are very few people on this planet who possess such skills, and he was certainly one of them. Ben was incredibly passionate and sincere with his interests and would go to the nth degree in exploring them. Ben offered so much to this world and I will deeply miss him. He was one of my closest of friends and we were always there for each other. He meant so much to me and I will miss him for the rest of my life. The world lost such a positive, loving and genuine person with Ben's passing, and it won't be the same without him. My heart and goes out to his family and friends. I'm so very sorry for your loss.

Ben was Jesse's little brother, bubbly, learning to walk and then toddle through our classroom. Always seemed to be listening as he moved around. A beautiful soul.

To Ben's family and friends ... words can never express our true feelings. He brought life and joy to the life of so many around him. He lives on, in how he touched everyone. May he rest in God's love and may you all find some peace ... it won't be soon, but you will, because SO MANY love YOU all.

My most sincere condolences to Ben's family. As you already know, Ben was a wonderful and kind spirit, whose life challenges are fought by many. I pray that the joy and love that he brought as he moved through this life can bring you strength in the grief of his passing.

Ben was my first best friend. We met when I was less than a year and spent our childhood playing together. We reconnected as young adults, and it was as no time had passed. He was a welcoming soul, treated people as if they mattered. The world will be a little less bright without him, I will miss him for the rest of my life.
