On Tuesday, February 10, 2015, the world lost the best husband, father, son, brother and grandpa. Ben Paul Rash was raised in Idaho and joined the United States Navy in 1977. He served on a nuclear Submarine, the USS Drum, SSN677. After a six year stint, he settled in Fresno, CA, and met the love...

Not sure what to say?

I have never forgotten you. We met at Weiser, my dad played and I was one of his accompanist. You were so funny, mischievous and insistent, in the most absolute sweetest way. You were one of the vigilantes on the hearse and I was captivated. You were with me during the awards and was so proud of my win. After the contest, you "kidnapped" me and, along with one of your good friends, we rode around in the hearse until the wee hours of the morning. We gave a lift to a hippy who stood on the...

I met Paul after I moved to Twin Falls in 1975 to attend the College of Southern Idaho. And that's where we met. The following Summer, I moved into an apartment that was upstairs from his and we hung out together many times and drank beer, listened to records and played some guitar (I taught him a few licks). I remember when he joined the Navy - he felt like his life needed some direction. And I wished him the best. He was a good guy. I'm so sorry to hear of his passing. It sounds like...

You are so missed by your family. You left a huge hole in our lives. The holidays are the hardest without your voice and creative genius. Until we see you again...❤

I love you Papa

I love you papa I wish that you were still here I miss you

Ben, we love you brother and we will see each other again so rest in peace and till then "what the hell is that bearing 152?"

Ben Paul, Serving with him on the Drum was a blast as he reminded me of Donald Sutherland in Kelly's Heros " Odd Ball". I remember going to a movie to see Pink Floyd The Wall in San Diego and we were riding on his Harley and I fell off the back when he gunned the Harley. I was OK but it took Ben Paul 10 minutes to figure out he lost me and came back.

To My Beloved....Until we are together again. Stay by my side.

I've always been slow to learn life's lessens, but I learned a hard one today. It's stay in touch with the good people in your life. Ben Paul is one of them. Ben and I served on the Drum together for almost 4 years and lived with boredom and terror, good times and bad. He attended my 40th birthday party and after not seeing him in so many years it was like we had never left the boat. From Thailand to Vladivostok and beyond we were shipmates. Ben was the first qualified friend I made and he...

Searching past shipmates, I just found out of BenPauls passing. I served with him on Drum in the late 70's early 80's. What a character! I loved listening to his way of explaining just about anything. His zest for life made it fun just to hang with him. I remember his motorcycle he rode back then, with the tin can oil "oil filter" he installed. Rest easy friend.
