I was so sorry to learn of Ben's death. Know that you and the family are in my thoughts and prayers.

Dear Wallis Ann and Family,

I was greatly saddened to hear of the passing of your beloved husband. You and your family have my deepest sympathy and compasionate understanding. It has been said that unless you walk in someone's shoes you can not possibly understand what they are experiencing.

I, too, walked in the same shoes of heartbreak and grief that you now are suffering. My husband of 51 years (we were married 22 days after our June 2, 1960 graduation from BHS)...

Benny - We shared many good times in Demolay together and likewise when you joined me at LSU. I'll always remember our many trips back to Biloxi on weekends.
