I was Ben´s niece by marriage, for 20+ years, and had the pleasure to spend time with Uncle Ben and Marcelle over the years. I met Ben years ago at Westerly Nursing home. I nicked name him “Big Ben” because he originally told me he was from England. As guarded as he was.....We grew to become very good friends. Visiting our loved ones daily, we both shared something very special; I knew Marcelle in the winter years -a unique way that only Ben could understand. Ben too, knew my mother in a way most did not while she too, resided in the nursing home. No one knew Marcelle and my mother the way Ben and I did. How...

I had the pleasure of meeting Ben and caring for him for 2 weeks. In that short time of knowing him taught me a great lesson. I’m grateful to have crossed paths with been and thank him fir the knowledge he instilled .
