Growing up as a neighbor of the Lapuk family in West Hartford, I saw Bernie, in uniform, as bigger than life. Hearty laugh, warm hugs with a twinkle in his eye, I am so sorry that light has dimmed. My condolences to you and Michelle.

Bernie and I grew up together on Garfield St;were in the Boy Scouts and Omega Delta and went off to the University of Miami after the war as roommates. We will all miss him.
