Bernie taught me a lot in the development industry, his knowledge and wit will never be forgotten. The community lost a great man he will be missed.

The world has loss a wonderful man.May he rest in peace.

How I cherish those Saturays after Saturdays, after Saturays sitting with Bernie and Ben in their vacant field of dreams, Elk Terminal watching those dreams become reality. Having lost my Dad at an early age Bernie became my father figure, my mentor, my friend. Tough, demanding, stubborn, gentle and giving all at the same time. An extraordinary man. my heatfelt condolences to all of you.

Mr. O taught me more than he ever realized. As a young real estate broker years ago, he had faith in my abilities before I did. I wish I took the time to learn more from this great man. As the saying goes; 'when a senior citizen dies, another library closes.' Thank you for the knowledge you shared with so many of us.

Mr. Obletz epitomized a diminishing era – one characterized by business being done on a handshake, community commitment and involvement, and the mentoring of tomorrow’s leaders.
