Ever since I moved away from the Lake Cities area, I think about Miss Bernice whenever I drive through Lake Dallas. She loved people unconditionally, and I am especially grateful for the love and support she gave my family during my son's short life. She loved John-John as her own, and she always lifted him up in spirit to our Lord. I loved playing flute while she played the organ. She was one of the best, most loving and selfless people I have ever known.

Bernice was a much loved friend and mentor, not only to me, but also to countless others, who were touched by her music, her sweet spirit, her teaching, her unwavering faith in Jesus, and her service.
