Not sure what to say?

I just heard that Bert passed away. I´m not in Sacramento anymore so I´m way behind in the news. Bert was a great coach and leader. I had the pleasure of playing for him with BAC and many other teams. His endless energy and insights were just incredible. He brought Sacramento soccer to new heights and will be missed.

My dear lovely old mate Bert, the world needs more lovely people like Bert. Many years working together at the old Western Daily Press in Bristol UK.
Rest in peace my old mate.

Went to grab a pint yesterday and learned of his passing. He helped my dad Chip Edin with starting Turn Verein Soccer Club and BAC (British American Soccer) in the 70's along coaching at many summer camps...a true Sacramento Soccer legend to many. Hope they are both enjoying a pint together. God Speed!

It was tough to lose my Dad and Bert Terry in the same week. I will sorely miss both of them. Bert taught us players so much about soccer, but he was more than a coach for many of us. I met him in the fall of 1973 after I had moved from Britain back to Sacramento and had just started as a sophomore at Rio American High School. Bert's Rio program became my community and I loved his inspiring approach to the game and his calm and congenial attitude to life. I will think about Bert's calmness...

RIP Bertie!!!!

The family of the late Sam Singh misses you!

Good old Bert. I will miss him.

I knew Bert for many years at The Fox and Goose and playing football in Sacramento. Bert was a gentleman of the first order - good natured and generous with his time. Sacramento is a better place because Bert made it his home and we will all be grateful for the time we had with him - especially over a pint at The Fox and Goose. Cheers mate and well done to you.

Despite my best efforts, Coach Terry turned me into a pretty good right wing forward at Rio Americano. Thank you Bert for all the lessons, for getting us to believe in ourselves, and for getting our spring league team into the 1971 state finals, even if we did get creamed. You were our inspiration. A life well-lived.

A true Icon in the Sacramento Soccer Community. There were plenty of camps, practices, and games where Bert would impart his soccer knowledge onto the kids...making us better players, better teammates, and better people. He was our district ODP coach and even cheered us on, when we played against his Rio Raiders...reminding us to leave it on the pitch; because we will be teammates again soon...Bert Terry taught me the importance of soccer fashion, so I wear the bucket hat as a coach now. ...
