Bertha Howell Obituary
AGE: 84 • New Castle
Bertha M. Howell, age 84, of New Castle, DE, passed away Wednesday, February 3, 2016. Bertha loved road trips with family and friends especially to the beach and also Lancaster where she found the surroundings to be very peaceful. She enjoyed sitting in the sun and walking at Battery Park. Bertha retired from the Marriott Corp. after over 30 years of dedicated service.
Bertha is survived by her son, Robert McAllister (Kris); daughters, Christine Kelley (Orville) and Vivian Mastin (Joseph); and a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Vincent Howell; parents, Clarence and Bertha McCoy; and sister, Margaret Hammond.
A visitation will be held Wednesday, February 10, 2016 from 10-11 AM in the Strano & Feeley Family Funeral Home, 635 Churchmans Rd., Newark, DE 19702 followed by a service in celebration of Bertha's life at 11 AM. Burial will follow in Gracelawn Memorial Park. The family wishes to thank Abbey Manor for the wonderful care provided to Bertha over the past 2 years. We met Bert at Abbey Manor, she was good friends with my mother-in-law, Mildred McCormick. John and I enjoyed visiting with Bert at Abbey Manor. We could always get a smile out of Bert.
