Not sure what to say?

6 years later, I wish to add my memories... Prof. Liander was the reason I attended U.Mass Amherst when I first came to campus in June of 1973 from France... I met him and learned that he would be my foreign student advisor in the School of Business. He was also instrumental in me receiving a foreign student tuition waiver from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
He was a great teacher because of his wide international experience.
I will always remember him for his mentorship!

It doesn't seem like 6 years. I love seeing the picture.

Bertil pushed me into the MBA program at UMASS in 1983, while I was just an unconfident undergraduate. He really helped me a lot! I wish I had contacted him and told him! A very special person!

I met Bertil sometime in the early 1960s while I was a doctoral candidate in Economics at the University of Rome. I remember a kind man with a similar scholastic background as my own, a few years older than me and have thought of him over the past half-century plus. I would have liked to rekindle our acquaintance in America. I am sorry for your loss and wish you serenity and good health.

May the love of friends and family carry you through your grief.

Dear Mrs. Liander, Marten, Catharina & families:
I am grateful that my mom and I had a lovely visit with Mr. & Mrs. Liander in December. I will treasure that time and all the fond memories of childhood and life I have shared with your family. I hold a special place in my heart for the family and the dogs.
Love,
Anne
( your chapel rd neighbor)

Dear Kerstin, Pat and I just came across Bertil's obituary, and want you to know how much we will miss seeing him and hearing his distinctive voice... He was a highly valued member of our town, and will be long remembered for his contributions and wit. With our deepest sympathies, John and Pat ---

Kerstin, we were so sad to learn of Bertil's passing. Our hearts go out to you and all your family. Bertil was a good friend and neighbor for many years and a true asset to our town. He will be greatly missed.

Kerstin...I just learned of Bertil's passing. Anne and I offer our sympathies. He was a great colleague and our mutual love of Sweden gave us many moments of enjoyment. He was instrumental in my getting to Lund in 1979 and that changed my life. I thank him for that. Sweden has become my second home and culture. I have thought of you both many times and looked forward to seeing you both at the Isenberg Christmas parties. Anne joins me in wishing you the very best for your future. Lots...
