Not sure what to say?

You know the old saying, "better later than never"? Well, this applies here. I recently learned from someone about Mrs. Birkett's passing from an old high school friend. Even though I had not talked to her in 30 years I wanted to share a memory. By the way I should back up and say I am sorry to the family and especially to Les for your great loss. You see Les and I were boyfriend and girlfriend for a year when I was a freshman. He was a sophomore. Anyway, Mrs. Birkett was always kind...

This is a picture of Jerry, Judy, and Leslie in 1991. Jerry is 45, Judy 44, and Les is 40 years old.

Jerry and Les shared that on the day they laid Betty to rest at Forest Lawn Cemetery, that Tuell McKee sent over two interns to assist at the grave side service. They were impeccably dressed and read the Lord's Prayer and other items that the family wanted read. A beautiful bouquet of dalias were placed on her grave site that were grown at the Seabeck Dalia Garden, which were very fragrant and gorgeous. The Urn was Blue Cobalt with large white birds flying Betty to her next home. She was...

Jerry, please accept my sincerest condolences. I wish you and yours the best.

Lyle and Betty were married at the age of 16 on New Years Day in 1946. Jerry was born that year, the next year Judy was born, and four years later Leslie was born. She kept very busy with the children. When they were small, Lyle and Betty added a basement and a larger house when they lived just below Pendagrast Sports Fields. Many friends and memories were made at that location. Then they made a "temporary" move to a house on South Wycoff. This ended up being their forever home in which many...

On 24 July 2020, Betty Birkett is being laid rest, at Forest Lawn Cemetery, Heather Section, toward the back, on hillside, next to her previous companion George Martin. Jerry and Les Birkett will read the Lord's Prayer, poems and lay a special bouquet of dalias. May God rest her soul.

This is a picture of my parents on their 25th Wedding Anniversary. Betty and Lyle Birkett celebrated at the Rocky Point Fire Department Hall. Many of their friends and family were their. It was a beautiful day of celebration and remained a special memory for them.

Mom,
So many wonderful memories, from childhood to being with you during your stay at the long term care facility. You were a beautiful person, and cared for us growing up. You had a beautiful laugh and a crazy whistle. I know you are in Heaven with your twin sister Beverly, sister Jean and your dad and mom. No more pain and streets of gold. Look forward to seeing you again. Love Judy, daughter

Grandma, thank you for being a shining star in my life, always believing in me and cheering me on! I will always remember the love and grace you showed everyone in your life. You will always be with me in my heart while I raise my family.
