Betty Silva was born in Belzoni, Mississippi on January 23, 1932, and passed away on Tuesday, April 14, 2009, after a courageous battle with Leukemia.
Betty was a devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother and one of her greatest joys in life was her grandchildren, whom she loved dearly and who were by her side throughout her illness.
Betty was an active member of the Kerman community for more than 70 years. She faithfully attended St. Patrick's Catholic Church and was active in the Altar Society. She was also involved in the Kerman S.B.F. Portuguese Hall, and the local I.D.E.S Chapter.
Betty will be dearly missed in this life by those who knew and loved her.
Betty was preceded in death by her husband Joseph, to whom she was happily married for 46 years; her daughter Susan; and her brother Bruce.
She is survived by her son Larry; her brothers, Bennie and Otis Bufkin; and her four grandchildren, Gianna Gragnani, Joey Silva, Sarah Small and Lana Silva.
Visitation will be held at Stephens & Bean Chapel on Monday, April 20, 2009, from 2:00 to 7:00 p.m.
A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Kerman on Tuesday April 21, 2009, at 10:00 a.m. Interment at Fresno Memorial Gardens.
Remembrances may be made to Hinds Hospice 1616 W. Shaw Ave., Ste. C-1, Fresno, Ca. 93711.
