Billy Newton, 75

Billy Carl Newton, 75, Kirkland Drive, Lexington, formerly of Irvine, died Wednesday at the Bourbon County Community Hospital. He was a native of Estill County, born Feb. 16, 1934, a son of the late Everett Newton and Bertha Barnes Newton. He was a retired Army National Guard Colonel, he was owner of Southern Industrial, a member of the Iron Workers Union for 55 years, a Shriner and a member of the Irvine Masonic Lodge. He was a deacon of Station Camp Christian...

Billy was a client, partner, tenant and, most of all, a friend that one could always depend on. We have great memories of our relationship going back more than 35 years. The world will miss him and we'll miss knowing that he is here. Our condolences to his family.

I was shocked & saddened to hear of the loss of Billy. He was the epitome of a true southern gentleman, with a little bit of ironworker mixed in. The way he loved his Lord, his family, and his friends, is the greatest legacy he could leave. He will be truly missed by all.

So sorry to hear of Mr. Newton's passing. His love for his family was very evident. In the short time I have known him as my landlord he has been fair, honest and I also considered him my friend. Me and my employees will all miss him. You should be proud to know that your husband and father treated people in the manner that he did.

Whitney and Family,
My deepest sympathy for the loss of your dad. He was one of the kindest gentlemen I have ever had the pleasure of knowing. He cared deeply for his family and friends. This was evident in the way he conducted himself. He will be truely missed.
