I was privileged to meet and work with Bishop Quinn on the Tohono O'odham Nation. He was deeply loved and respected by all members of the Nation. Bishop Quinn said morning Mass one day in Sister Jose Hobday's apartment. Afterwards he shared with us that his mother's wedding ring was embedded in the base of his chalice. I was very touched by this. He was truly a kind and gentle shepherd. Our sun shines a little less bright with his loss but a new star shines brightly in the heavens.

HE LOVED THE DIVERSITY AND CULTURE OF ALL PEOPLE! AMEN

When the "Good Guys" case went to trial in San Francisco in 1995 Bishop Quinn testified. The father of the Defendant, Loi Nguyen, was the "Go to Guy" for 15,000 Vietmanese in the Sacramento Valley. He was a great witness.

I was an altar boy at Sacred heart high School in 1954.I knew him well.He helped me go to the seminary. Later he was my bishop in Sacramento when I taught college. I helped him move to the new chancery in 1999 the year I retired. He lived the life of a saint and I feel I knew a real saint in every meaning of the word. I am sure he meets all qualificactions. His presence in the lives he touched will not fade.He made mine ...
