Bobby Stroud Obituary
Born in Iredell County on June 5, 1949, he was the son of the late Paul Hodgson Stroud and Aileen Ratledge Stroud.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by one sister, Jo Stroud Beam.
Bobby completed high school and was in the United States Army Reserves. He owned and operated Stroud Brothers Grading Company, alongside his brother, Dick, and was a member of Society Baptist Church.
He loved the outdoors, traveling and camping. He also enjoyed sawing lumber with the saw mill, and was a collector of antique tractors.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Ann Feimster Stroud of the home; son, Steve Curtis Stroud (Christy) of Mocksville; daughter, Tamara S. Phillips of Hickory; one brother, Richard Jerry Stroud "Dick" of Mocksville and four grandchildren, Paul Holden Stroud, Austin Taylor Stroud, Trevor James Phillips and Grayson Alan Phillips.
The family will receive friends Tuesday evening, September 15, 2015 from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM at Bunch-Johnson Funeral Home.
A graveside service will be held Wednesday, September 16, 2015 at 2:00 PM at Society Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. David Gilbreath officiating.
Memorial donations may be made to Hospice & Palliative Care of Iredell County 2347 Simonton Road Statesville, NC 28625.

Tamara and family right now I know it's a very sad time...but God will bring you through this...I so glad I got to meet your father at CVMC,and my father's birthday was also june 5 th...and I still miss my dad like crazy...but peace will come ....remember a piece of your father will always be inside of you...You really did look a lot like him. Dearest Ann and family we were so saddened to hear the news about Bob. His precious smile and personality will be so missed in our community. I was just telling someone about how he used to come down to daddy's when we were young. Bob always referred to him as Mr. Roy, just a sign of what a respectful person he was. Daddy , Bob & Dick would sit out on the porch for hours swapping stores of days gone by. Bet they up there right now at heaven gate doing just that. Making all of heaven light up. He always referred to me as the little red headed one. well he found his beautiful red headed bride. Precious Ann my heart goes out to you in this time of pain and void that you feel for your lost love. just remember all the wonderful years you shared and he will always be in your heart.Love and Prayers. It really made me sad when I heard about Bob. I considered him a friend, and when he came into Cartner's he was always smiling and talking with his friends around the table. I have really missed seeing all the guys who set around that table, but so many have gone on to a better place. My thoughts and prayers go out to Mrs. Stroud and his family. Gene Garland
