Not sure what to say?

Gary and Mary,

I am so sorry to hear of your loss. I just heard about it now because I was out of town. My thoughts and prayers are with you as you go through this difficult time. Gary, I remember you sharing with me in the Oncology waiting room that Brad was witnessed to about Christ being his Savior and that he seemed to accept that grace in his life. Hopefully that gives you more peace knowing he is in heaven. May God's love and peace be with you both and your family. ...

The time i had him was one of my favorite seventh grade classes when he always had riddles for the classes to think and have a fun time after learning about history. Mary and family,

So sorry to hear of the loss of your son, Brad. He sounded like such a wonderful son and dedicated teacher. We also have a son that is 40 years old and know how hard it must be for you to lose him. Our prayers and sympathy to you and your family. God bless you and keep you.

Mr. Engen was an inspiring and uniquely creative teacher. He always encouraged us to be imaginative. I was glad to be in one of his classes.

Gary and family,
I didn't know Brad but I know you Gary, and from what you've said of your son and from what I've read he must have had the best of examples in you and your wife. I'm with you in prayer today and my hope is that our Lord is holding you close. I know Brad is already in His arms.

God bless you,

Mr. Engen was by far the most influential teacher in my daughter's life. He had a gift, a way of reaching and connecting with students that nurtured, encouraged and inspired them. He will be truly missed. Please accept my deepest sympathy.

Unforgettable energy and personality. I hope he knew the impact he had on his students and players. See you when I get there Coach Engen. Rest in paradise.
