I had never been in a choir except for a couple community productions of Amahl with my sister in Colorado and The Gold Tones Show Choir was my first foray in music on my own. Brenda and the Gold Tones embraced me as a tenor and accepted me even though I didn't read music (and only do so slightly even now). As a director and as a friend, she was intimidating yet empowering, demanding yet encouraging. She built my confidence as a singer and inspired me to try to improve. Music has given me...

Brenda will be missed by a lot of people like me, one who can't really sing until she brings it out. She was a great teacher and friend. God got Himself a great choir director in her.
